Winnie Burwell’s affinity for connecting people, wine, and a great experience is clear from the start of her career. Beginning at the prestigious Windows on the World, Winnie’s innovative and entrepreneurial spirit clearly shined. The native New Yorker worked her way up to be Maitre d’ of the Cellar in the Sky where she supported the ongoing wine education program and special events. Today, in addition to attending wine events the world over, Winnie has had several guest appearances on the Food Network.
For the past decade, Winnie’s consulting and marketing company, Where there’s Wine there’s Winnie, has brought her expertise to both the hospitality industry and the public through her salons, which include tastings, lectures, and special events. The salons are the ideal forums to introduce wines, educate clients about vineyards, and explore food and wine pairings. As a connoisseur, dynamic speaker, and great teacher, Winnie offers clients both an education about wines and wine service and the opportunity to share their new knowledge. Professionals who participate in Winnie’s educational seminars are better prepared to inform their staff and clientele, thus ramping up both education and sales figures, and wine enthusiasts at every level learn something new.
Winnie enjoys a loyal and enthusiastic following. She loves sharing her passion for wine and creating events where fine wines are accessible to all. Her range of connections, encyclopedic knowledge, unparalleled expertise in wine, and ability to put attention on the education of others make her website, http://www.winewinnie.com, and her events great destinations for both professionals and the bon vivant in everyone.
Winnie broke ground in several of her positions as not only the African-American, but as the first woman selected in a prestigious and highly competitive industry.
